Thanksgiving and Abundance

Although it always feels good to have gratitude in our daily lives, Thanksgiving is meant to be a time for expressing feelings of gratitude, sharing, for being thankful for what we have, being at service to others, and for spending time with friends and family. Being thankful and expressing gratitude for what we have also has the bonus of attracting abundance to our lives. All of those positive vibes get sent out to the Universe and spread out like threads, and connect to others, and thus attract new opportunities and material and non-material abundance as the Universe and other people intuitively pick up on the fact that you appreciate what has been given you thus far, and therefore energetically balance that positive energy you send out, back to you with more. If a person constantly focuses on what little they have, and puts that negative energy out to the Universe and other people (other people who have intuition themselves, even if they don’t believe that they do), then the Universe and other people, consciously or subconsciously, will react by hindering opportunities and abundance, as the person is not being receptive, and receptivity to abundance is blocked.

Abundance from the Universe doesn’t always come in the form of material goods and money. Sometimes it comes in the form of opportunities and help from other people. I notice that when I put a conscious effort on being thankful for every little thing that the Universe and other people provide me and help me with, that I will suddenly have unexpected help from friends, family, and even strangers, little unexpected gifts, surpises, new ideas, and new business opportunities and clients. Sometimes being grateful for the abundance that you have already received can indeed attract money and material things, but it doesn’t always have to be so. In terms of manifestation of abundance, it is important and just plain feels good to be grateful for what you have in all forms.

When I use my clairvoyance and focus on the connections of the Universe, I can see energy spreading out from people and connecting to each other and everything like strings. I can see the connected strings pulling back and forth and being interconnected like a complicated woven pattern, tensing and easing up here and there. Your thoughts create an energy that forms a string or connection, and through it sends the energy of your thoughts out, and energy also gets sent back to you. That is why positive thoughts and affirmations are so powerful, and also why negative thoughts can be powerful as well. If you think of the Universe as a computer program (not a perfect analogy, I know), your thoughts and focused energy are you basically inputting data into the program, changing and designing its direction. So if you focus on positive thoughts, and also give whatever and as much as you can, you are designing a ‘program’ to receive abundance from the Universe and others, which manifests positive energy and more opportunities into your life. When I ask for help from Spirit in times when I feel negative thoughts are taking over, they always remind me to start concentrating on positive affirmations, and even saying them aloud, and also to do some energy cleansing, grounding, and chakra balancing, and when I actually do these things, I suddenly notice a shift in energy, I feel much better and happy again, and abundance in all forms starts flowing to me once again. It sounds so simple, but positive affirmations, positive visualization, and energy work really are very powerful.

What are some of the things you are thankful for?

I hope everyone has a great day and Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Is There a Difference Between a Medium and a Psychic?

We are all spiritual beings, and everyone has psychic and intuitive ability to some degree, which can be developed even further with intent and practice.  While everyone is born psychic, however, not everyone can be a medium.  So what is the difference between a psychic and a medium?  Mediumship ability is the ability to communicate with spirits in the Spirit World.  All mediums have psychic ability, but not all psychics are mediums.

Psychic ability is the ability to sense things using the senses outside of our normal physical senses, like being able to sense energy, feelings, even thoughts, and the past, present, and future.  Psychic ability includes the “clairs” – clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, clairgustance, claircognizance, and clairalience.  Mediums, as psychics, naturally use the “clairs” in their communication with Spirits, as well, it’s just that not all psychics have the ability to communicate with Spirits and entities.

Clairvoyance is the ability to “see” things outside of the normal range of physical sight.  So when I am receiving clairvoyant information, visions, pictures, visual symbols, including numbers and letters, and even situations playing out like movies come to me in my own mind.  Some clairvoyants can actually see the physical manifestation of spirits (as “ghostly apparitions”), but luckily I mostly do not see them that way, and I am very glad because the idea freaks me out too much, and is probably the reason why I do not wish to develop that part of my clairvoyant ability any further.  I have had experiences with seeing the physical manifestation of Spirits, and most of the experiences did not scare me at the time, but just the thought that something might someday scare me if I developed the ability further, is enough for me to avoid it, and I think this is the reason why Spirits know not to show themselves to me in that way.  My clairvoyance, like with other psychics and mediums, generally happens as visual messages in my head.  I can’t quite explain well how it works, but there is definitely a completely discernible difference between clairvoyant messages that I get and my own thoughts, ideas, and imagination, so there is no confusing clairvoyance with imagination.  I also get confirmation from people who I do my readings with, and when clairvoyant information “comes true”, that the information is indeed separate from my own imagination.

Clairsentience is the ability to “sense through feeling” things outside of the normal range of physical experience.  When I am receiving clairsentient information, I can psychically “feel” body sensations of other people and of Spirits when they were still alive.  Some psychics and mediums get actual physical sensations, while others psychically sense the feelings.  I usually psychically sense a Spirit’s physical body and bodily sensations from when they were alive, rather than get actual physical sensations, but the actual physical sense does happen to me occasionally during readings.  Guides and Spirits will let you know when you are “right” or “onto something”, or to pay attention to something, by giving you physical sensations like a poking sensation, chills, and goosebumps.  Clairsentience is very “feeling” oriented.  A psychic or medium will get “feelings” about people, situations, places, and things when using clairsentience.  Empaths and people who are very empathetic are usually very clairsentient.

Clairaudience is the ability to “hear” things outside of the normal range of physical experience.   Most mediums, if not all mediums, are clairaudient.  I happen to be very clairaudient, and it was the first “clair” that developed the strongest for me and made me realize that I am a psychic medium.  I can psychically “hear” voices of spirits communicate actual words, names, numbers, and letters to me.  Most of the time my clairaudience works psychically, rather than physically, but occasionally I can hear spirits speaking or whispering to me out loud with my physical sense of hearing.  Again, as with the other “clairs”, there is no confusion between the clairaudient messages I get and my own thoughts and imagination.  The “voices” are very distinctly separate from me, and I can even sense the speaking style of Spirits and the distinctive sound of their voices.

Claircognizance is the ability to just “know” things that one could not possibly know by any other means other than psychically.  In other words, claircognizance is just knowing things without learning them from someone or something directly teaching you from either the physical or from the Spirit world.  I can’t explain how or why it works, but it just does, and it is definitely different than working with the other “clairs”.  Sometimes I will get a sentence from a Spirit (clairaudience), or a feeling about something (clairsentience), and other times I will get a vision (clairvoyance), and then other times I will just blurt something out because I just “know” it right away, something very specific, and the person I am reading for is always surprised at how quick it came out, and usually responds with “Oh my God, how did you know that?”.  Honestly, it surprises me all of the time, too, it just works! I happen to think that the reason claircognizance works is because claircognizants are connected to the Akashic Records, which is the energetic record of all knowledge – everything that has ever happened and ever will happen. Claircognizant people are usually very mentally-oriented and analytical in their lives in general. Claircognizant people are also usually very telepathic.

Clairgustance is the ability to receive actual “taste” sensations while receiving psychic information.  The psychic might “taste”, either psychically or physically, tobacco for instance, if a Spirit was a smoker while alive, or mint, if a Spirit characteristically loved mint candies.  I have only experienced this a few times myself, and am working on developing this skill further.

Clairalience is the ability to actually sense “scents” while receiving psychic information.  As with clairgustance, a psychic or medium will either physically or psychically smell things associated with a Spirit.  So I might be able to “smell” a sweet smell if a Spirit wore a special kind of perfume, or smell flowers if they were particularly fond of flower gardening while they were alive.  Once when a Spirit came through, I could strongly smell the scent of dill, as the Spirit was characteristically fond of pickling when they were alive.  A lot of people who do not even consider themselves very psychic have clairalient experiences.  For instance, I have heard many stories of people suddenly being able to smell the perfume or cologne of a relative who has passed to the Other Side, and many times when a negative Spirit is present there will be a sudden, foul stench in the area.

Anyone can learn to develop the “clairs”, as everyone has psychic ability.  Not everyone can develop mediumship ability, however, because not everyone is born a medium.  A medium gets their psychic information from the “clairs”, as well as directly from Spirits and entities.

What is Grounding and Why it is Important

_IGP8997copyrAs spiritual, intuitive, and psychic beings, we are all susceptible to collecting negative energy from other people and our environment.  As we go about our days, especially in this modern, electronic world, our auras collect psychic debris and our energy fields and chakras can become unbalanced and blocked.  This can make us lose focus and interfere with our daily functioning, both on a spiritual and physical level. Spiritual and physical grounding connects us to Mother Earth energy, which is very healing and therapeutic to our physical and spiritual bodies.  The practice of grounding helps to balance and clear blockages from our energy centers and chakras, especially the root chakra, which is associated with daily, mundane functioning, our physical survival, work (including the ability to make money), our sense of “roots” to our home and family, and stability.

A person who is not grounded will feel spacey and have a very hard time making decisions.  Their intuition will be “off”.  Whenever I psychically see someone that is not grounded, I can feel their energy field as depleted and blocked in areas, and they are not centered.  Not being grounded affects a person’s whole energy field, resulting in an imbalance and/or blockages in the other chakras besides the root chakra, as one chakra being unbalanced or blocked will throw the other chakras out of whack.  It will affect one’s power center, allowing others (including negative entities) to “suck” one’s energy and power away from them.  It can result in one becoming an “energy sucker” themselves (on a subconscious level), as the individual who is not grounded subconsciously takes in other’s energy in order to compensate for their own energy imbalances and blockages.

Grounding on a regular basis can benefit everyone, but anyone who wishes to develop their psychic and intuitive abilities should ground daily, AND also directly BEFORE and AFTER doing any psychic or intuitive work (and yes, each and every time).  Firstly, it helps to release negative energy that our spiritual bodies have collected, which ensures that there will be less negative “interference” while doing intuitive work.   Secondly, it helps to balance and heal our energy centers, which also prevents negative “interference”. Thirdly, it not only clears and balances our energy fields, but it offers PROTECTION from any negative interference and negative influences while working psychically.  Protection before doing psychic work is extremely important because you are opening yourself up to receiving message from Spirit, which includes negative entities and energies.  With the protection of grounding, negative “interference” will be greatly minimized, if not prevented all together.

So how does one ground themselves? There are several methods of grounding, and the following grounding meditation that was taught to me is a very good one.  It is not only very effective, but has the added bonus of being extremely calming and relaxing.  I not only do it before and after doing any psychic work, but also any time that I feel frazzled or anxious, or when I am having a hard time thinking about a situation clearly or having a hard time making a difficult decision.  It calms me down immediately.  It can be done either standing or sitting.  I prefer to stand because I find it much more effective for myself, but others may find that sitting is more comfortable and effective while doing this exercise.

First, plant your feet firmly on the ground or floor.  Now close your eyes and visualize strong roots growing from the bottom of your feet and moving deep down into Mother Earth, as deep down as your intuition guides you at the time, even to the center of the Earth if that is what you feel you need.  You can also visualize a third root growing from the base of your spine into the Earth at the same time, which connects your root chakra directly to Mother Earth.  Firmly plant the roots into Mother Earth. You can even visualize the roots wrapping around a rock deep into Mother Earth if it makes you feel more anchored.  Your feet, physical body, and energy field should feel very heavy and anchored at this point. Now send all of the negative debris that your energy field has collected down through those roots, and intuitively, or with your voice out loud, ask Mother Earth to take care of the negative debris for you and offer you healing.  Next, visualize light moving up through your planted roots and up into the bottom of your feet (and root chakra if you’ve visualized a root growing from there, as well).  Your intuition will naturally pick a colour (or colours) of the light that moves up through the roots.  Go with whatever colour comes to you for it is what your energy field and physical body especially need at the time.  Let the light move up through you and fill up your whole body, UP through all of your chakras, down your arms to the tips of your fingers, and up to the top of your head or crown chakra.  Now visualize branches growing from the top of your head, your crown chakra, and branching out to the Sun and Moon at the same time. Next, visualize WHITE light from the Sun and Moon moving down through those branches and into your crown chakra, and state, either intuitively or out loud, that you are now being healed and protected by white light.  Move the white light down through your whole body, down through your arms to the tips of your fingers, down through all of your chakras, and down to the bottom of your feet.  Visualize the white light enveloping your whole physical and spiritual body.  You are now grounded! Your feet should feel very heavy and there will be a noticeable difference in the sensation of your energy field.

Visualization and meditation are not the only way to ground oneself, as certain physical activities can also be very grounding.  Also called Earthing, walking BAREFOOT outside right in the grass, soil, or on natural rocks is very grounding and therapeutic.  I have read that studies have even shown therapeutic health benefits of earthing, ranging from decreasing inflammation to lowering blood pressure.  I would suspect that earthing in a natural wilderness area or in sacred areas would be even more beneficial than earthing in an urban area.  Gardening is obviously a very grounding physical exercise.  Being close to animals is also very grounding, as they are close to Mother Earth themselves.  Home cooking, especially with fruits and vegetables, can be a very grounding exercise, as well.  Working with natural materials, such as wood, rock, natural fibers, and natural metals is also grounding.

Even though there are physical activities that can be grounding, however, it is very important to still spiritually ground oneself through visualization on a regular basis.  It not only keeps your energy field flowing smoothly and connected to your own body rather than to everything and everyone else, but protects your energy field from negative influences, as well.  It doesn’t take a long time to do and the benefits to your spiritual and physical body are numerous.
